Ordering your dress
Wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses take approximately 12 to 16 weeks for delivery. Fittings usually start around eight weeks before the wedding and final fittings around three weeks before. It’s important to leave plenty of time when ordering your dress to fit these dates into your plans.
Once you have chosen your dress and placed an order, Cavendish Bridal House requires a 50% deposit. The final balance is due 4 months from the date of order. All major cards, cash and cheques are accepted.
It is worth mentioning the sizes of wedding dresses as they are very different to your regular dress sizes. The size of your normal clothes are made to British Standard Sizing and wedding dresses are made from couture patterns. This sometimes leads to size differences, for example, you may be a size 14 in normal clothes but your wedding dress may be a size 16 or 18.
Size is not important. We will measure you at the very beginning and your dress will be ordered from your biggest dimension and altered to fit you perfectly when it arrives. So if your waist requires a size 14 and your hips need a 16, the 16 will be ordered and the waist will then be taken in to fit and to ensure you look beautiful.
